The event was launched to great enthusiasm today at Stoke City’s match with Middlesbrough, with Sam Duckworth aka Get Cape Wear Cape Fly performing at a civic reception alonside local heroes The Control, then addressing a packed stadium at half-time, when highlights of last year’s event were also shown on the stadium’s giant video screen.
Stoke City staff distributed nearly 15,000 flyers to fans, and event partners Kick Racism Out of Football screened video messages supporting the event from top footballers including James Beattie of Stoke City, Ledley King of Spurs, and Justin Hoyte of Middlesbrough.
